We have some scary good treats (hold the tricks!) in the bakery case to celebrate today! Visit us, 8am-5pm, for Halloween cupcakes, pumpkin whoopie pies, apple pie bars, apple crumb pie, pumpkin cheesecake bars, pumpkin raisin cookies, pumpkin muffins, and more in the bakery. For lunch, enjoy our homemade pumpkin corn soup with a sandwich or salad. We also have pumpkin oreo ice cream waiting for you after your hike on the Mount Holyoke Range this weekend. Tomorrow the calendar page flips to November – which means our brains in the bakery flip to THANKSGIVING MODE. We’ll talk about pie, think about pie, dream about pie, and make lots and lots of pies in preparation of our biggest day of the year: Pie Pick Up Day. It’s never too early to place your Thanksgiving pie and dessert orders. To order, you can visit us, call 413-586-2142, or email us at info@barstowslongviewfarm.com. Ordering is simple and fast, and pick-ups are too! Orders that will be picked up on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving must be placed by Monday, November 23 before 3pm. We always have a few extra pies on the grab and go table that Wednesday as well. Count on picking up locally made holiday wreaths and kissing balls when you get your pies!
Pies also make a great gift for your hardworking teammates. 2020 has been a doozy…show your appreciation to your staff, teachers, family members, club mates – with PIE. Pie is clearly on our mind, but we offer a variety of other Thanksgiving and holiday dishes to match our community’s needs. If pie isn’t your thing, consider ordering a pumpkin roll or a Thanksgiving mini dessert platter. There’s something for everyone at your neighborhood dairy farm! Orders are already coming in, so before it’s back to the kitchen for me, two quick notes! First, there’s been a lot of requests for our Autumn Soup CSA. Much of our time has been focused on the health and safety of our staff and customers, adapting to new demands brought on by the pandemic, and Thanksgiving celebrations spread out over the month – we do not have the capacity to do the Soup CSA this fall. That said, the Barstow’s Winter Soup CSA will absolutely make a reappearance in January 2021!
